Three Officers to Stand Trial for Azario Major’s Death
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Three police officers will stand trial for manslaughter in 2021 shooting death of Azario Major.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Three police officers will stand trial for manslaughter in 2021 shooting death of Azario Major.
Sergeant Antoine Sweeting, Corporal Deangelo Rolle and Sergeant Jamal Johnson were formally committed to stand trial when they appeared before Coroner Kara Turnquest-Deveaux.
They will be arraigned on December 13 and remain on $9,900 bail.
Major was shot and killed on December 26, 2021 when the officers shot up his car after they alleged he reached for a gun.
The incident happened near Woody’s Bar on Firetrail Road.
