PENNSYLVANIA – Luigi Mangione, accused of killing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, has agreed to return to New York to face murder charges.

The 26 year old appeared in a Pennsylvania courtroom Thursday, where he waived extradition. His attorney called it “In his best interest”.

Prosecutors allege Mangione waited nearly an hour before shooting Thompson outside a midtown manhattan hotel earlier this month. The case has sparked heated reactions, with one bystander calling it a wake-up call about healthcare inequality.
