NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Central Bank Governor John Rolle shedding more light on the recently released monthly economic and financial developments report for August.

The Central Bank governor’s comments come on the heels of the monthly economic and financial developments report for August 2021, which revealed that total visitor arrivals were up to just over 183 thousand in July- compared to under 24,000 in 2020.

Family island travel also increased from just over 14,000 in 2020 to over 52,000 this year with the peak winter season travel approaching.

Overall air arrivals strengthened to over 133,000 from 15,000 in 2020.

Rolle says the pattern of utilizing safety protocols and reopening must continue.

Rolle also touched on the country’s ability to manage its debt obligations.
