NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Now that the 2022 Boxing Day parade is in the history books, Junkanoo groups are back in the shacks preparing for the upcoming New Year’s Day parade. But before getting back on Bay, they’re sharing how they felt about their performance.

The Shell Saxon Superstars fell short this rush after winning two straight in the 2019 Boxing Day and 2020 New Year’s Day Junkanoo parades.

Chairman, Toby Austin admits there were some challenges.

For Boxing Day, the Saxons picked lucky number one; this time they’re third out the gate.

Roots Junkanoo Group Music Director, Jay Sergeant says he is pleased with their performance, but he admits the forces of nature worked against them.
