NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A police-involved shooting in the Turks and Caicos Islands has claimed the life of a Bahamian.

Just last month, over 20 Royal Bahamas Police Force officers were deployed to TCI to assist with a growing crime problem.

One of the Bahamian police officers deployed to TCI is now part of investigations into a police-involved shooting, according to Minister of National Security Wayne Munroe.

Munroe says the victim, Brandon Leonardo Rahming, is either a Bahamian citizen or of Bahamian decent.

Munroe says more details on the circumstances surrounding the shooting would be given at the appropriate time.

While speaking to reporters outside of the House of Assembly, the minister also responded whether he was aware some 200 Royal Bahamas Defence Force officers were threatening to resign.
