GRAND BAHAMA , BAHAMAS – The Regency Theatre is marking 55 years of being a hub for the arts on Grand Bahama, and for the Freeport Players’ Guild, the body that runs the theatre, they’re celebrating 65 years, boasting of being one of the oldest civic organizations on the island.

President Olivia Dorsett said that they’re now tasked with revitalizing the Regency post-Hurricane Dorian.

This year, the guild sought more feedback from the community, and Dorsett said the response was great.

For young creatives looking to find their way in the arts, she said they have a space just for you.

It’s called the Young Arts Regency Drama Group, or “YARD Group,” for young adults 18 to 30.

Dorsett said they’ve made several steps toward modernizing systems at the Regency, and if you’re interested in any information, from shows to membership, you can find it online.

She said they’re also making something as simple as meetings more interesting.
