Bahamian Professor Educates Students on the Importance of Voting

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A Bahamian professor living abroad has made it her mission to educate her Colorado students about the importance of today’s historic elections.

Aleandra Pinder, a Bahamian Afro-Caribbean recruiter and professor who has lived in the U.S.

For over a decade, and currently resides in Colorado says she’s been educating her Bahamian American students about the U.S. election process.

As for the issues that matters most to Bahamians living in Colorado.

“We had some Bahamians, they served in the army, in the U.S.Army years ago, and so they, you know, they want all of those residential benefits,” she said.

“But then on the other side, I also have some students, you know, saying, you know, it’s my moral belief. You know, I don’t necessarily agree with abortion, and I don’t agree with, you know, certain a lot their personal belief that doesn’t align. And so it’s, it’s half and half here, between, between them to, you know, more protection of border control, all of these things are being said in the air.”

But who do these students think is the best candidate for the job?

“I actually had them say to me that they don’t even they prefer voting for a third person versus voting for either or party,” the Colorado professor said.

“They looked at how like could a woman actually leave just the some of the boys, I’ll be honest. Could she even lead us? How could she protect us? Right? And then on the other end of it, you want some of them saying, but look at what he said about our look at what president, former president trump, said about our countries.”
