NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Nearly four months after unofficially winning the Bahamas Public Services Union election, Labour Minister Pia Glover-Rolle has certified the recently contested results officially naming union President Kimsley Ferguson and the Workers Team the winners.

A September 28th letter penned by former Labour Director and BPSU President John Pinder and Alexander Burrows to the registrar of trade union complained about the results.

Among the complaints were candidates and labour officials received an incomplete register of voters.

Ferguson says they had no doubt that they would come out on top following those investigations.

In a statement, Glover-Rolle said that based on a thorough investigation and consultation process, we have made the determination that the irregularities identified were not of a magnitude that would justify overturning the results.
