NASSAU, THE BAHAMAS – A major show of support for charities across The Bahamas as The Bahamas Striping Group of Companies giving back more than $100,000 to non-profit organizations nationwide, expanding their reach this year to include the family islands.

Our Chinasa Outten tells us more on how the contributions are helping to bring hope to those who need it most.

The Bahamas Striping Group of Companies continuing its tradition of giving back by presenting more than $100,000 across 18 non-profit organizations.

And for the first time, that initiative stretched beyond New Providence, reaching organizations in the family islands as well.

President of the Bahamas Striping Group of Companies, Atario Mitchell, says the company believes success should always be shared with the communities they serve.

“It’s very important when you look at a company that’s only as good as the community that it operates in, and what we seek to do is we operate throughout the Bahamas, so we like to touch every island that we’re working on and the wider community.” – Atario Mitchell

The donation comes as the company celebrates 16 years in business, marking the milestone with its largest contribution yet.

“With $160,000, a share over 18 charities, so we think the mark of our year and anniversary as the way of giving back as well.” – Atario Mitchell

Among the recipients, the Grand Bahama Children’s Home, an organization that provides care and support for children in the government’s care.

Executive Director June Hutchinson says the donation represents more than just financial assistance – it represents hope for the children they serve every day.

“Our major theme is hope, and I think this donation is the hope of what we now can try to do with this intention of making the home as best we can for the children that are there.” -June Hutchinson

Also attending the ceremony was the wife of the prime minister Ann Marie Davi, who commended the company for making community support a priority rather than an afterthought.

“I have to admire Bahamas Striking Group of Companies because they always make sure that they share a lot of what they take in. Like I said, they don’t just decide, okay, at the end of the day, let’s see what’s left and share it out. They actually budget for giving out these contributions.” – Ann Marie Davis

As non-profit organizations across the country continue to face growing demands, donations like these are providing critical support and reminding many Bahamians that corporate success can still go hand in hand with community impact.
