NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Civil Aviation Authority beefing up their inspection process and regulations at the Lynden Pindling International Airport. This comes following a viral video involving a Flamingo Air aircraft whose door ladder fell open mid-air.

An eye opener, that’s how the Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority Devard Francis is describing the recent incident involving a Flamingo Air flight when a door ladder was hanging from an aircraft mid-air.

Francis says the authority is now enhancing their presence at the airport all in an effort to prevent incidents like these from happening again.

There’s been reports of pilots who should not be receiving any compensation, transporting passengers. He says they are currently in the middle of an investigation.

Francis says they have a list of pilots who have the necessary AOC certificates.

If pilots are caught in the act their license can be suspended and fined.
