NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A Canadian man accused of raping an 80-year-old woman in the elevator of the Warwick Hotel remains in custody pending a judge’s ruling on his bail application.

Justice Franklyn Williams KC is expected to give his decision in the case of Gordon Wilkie on Monday.

Prosecutors allege that the 61-year-old raped the hotel guest on January 28.

Wilkie has sought bail on medical grounds, alleging that prison officials haven’t given him medication to regulate his blood pressure. The prosecution is objecting to his release.
