NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The possible implementation of a corporate income tax could do away with business licenses for companies that pay the tax.

Attorney General Ryan Pinder confirming as much, adding that it may only apply to around one percent of businesses.

The green paper proposed four different options. Pinder emphasized that no policy position has been taken on the matter.

He says the commitment to the implementation of an corporate income tax was made under the former minnis administration.

The commitment is for the implementation by 2024.

Pinder was asked if government is concerned that some of the options will negatively impact businesses.
