UNITED STATES – Fred King is heading back to Creighton for one final season of college basketball, just months after a breakout campaign at Murray State.

King spent his first three college seasons with the Bluejays, averaging 3.4 points and 2.5 rebounds as a freshman, 2.9 points and 2.4 rebounds as a sophomore, and 2.7 points and 1.3 rebounds as a junior.

He then exploded at Murray State, averaging 13.1 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.1 blocks, while shooting 64.8 percent from the field. He earned First-Team All-MVC, All-Defensive Team and Newcomer of the Year honors.

King’s return is possible because of a series of court rulings involving NCAA eligibility. A federal judge ruled that athletes from the 2022 high school class who had exhausted four seasons could compete for a fifth season, providing King an opportunity to return.

King had already signed with MLP Academics Heidelberg in Germany, but that deal was mutually terminated over residence and work-permit uncertainties.

Now, instead of starting his professional career in Germany, King gets one more shot with the Bluejays.

The Bahamas Under-14 boys national team is off to a perfect start at the 2026 CFU U14 Challenge Series, following a dominant 5-0 victory over Montserrat on Monday in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

The win is the Bahamas’ second straight of the tournament, giving the team six points from its opening two group-stage matches.

The Bahamian side controlled the match from the opening whistle, applying consistent pressure, moving the ball with purpose and capitalizing on its opportunities throughout both halves.

The Bahamas now turns its attention to its final group-stage match against Guyana on Wednesday, August 19, at 9:30 a.m.

With six points already secured, the young Bahamian squad enters that match with momentum and a chance to advance further in the competition.

Chavez Young continues to put together one of the best seasons of his professional career, and the Bahamian outfielder is now leading the Frontier League with 88 runs scored.

Young is also second in the league with 47 stolen bases, a total that has already made him the single-season stolen-base leader in Québec Capitales history.

The 2026 Frontier League All-Star has been one of the most productive leadoff hitters in the league, combining his speed with a strong offensive season for the defending Frontier League champions.

Young’s 47 steals have surpassed the previous Capitales single-season mark of 46, while his 88 runs lead the entire league.

For a player who spent last season in the American Association of Professional Baseball, his first season in Québec has turned into a record-setting campaign.
