NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Court of Appeal has reserved its decision on how much time Roger Watson should get for killing a 12-year-old boy 21 years ago.

Back in 2007, Watson was sentenced to death following his conviction for the January 15, 2003 shooting death of Eddison Curtis-Johnson.

Watson fired an assault rifle into the wooden home occupied by the child as a result of a feud he had with the boy’s stepfather.

Eddison, who was watching TV in the living room, was shot in the head.

In 2009, the Court of Appeal quashed Watson’s murder conviction and replaced it with one of manslaughter. He was resentenced to 50 years in prison.

Last year, the Privy Council quashed the sentence and directed the Court of Appeal to hold a sentencing hearing.

During the hearing, Watson’s lawyer, David Cash, suggested a sentence of 25 years.

The prosecutor Uel Johnson is seeking a sentence of 35 years.
