NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A devastating gas explosion has left a family homeless and shaken after a tragic accident at their residence. 

Sandra Smith and her family were settling in after a long evening at their food stand that’s just outside their home, but in the blink of an eye, their lives were turned upside down.

It was  shortly after 4pm when a gas delivery truck arrived, and as the tank was being refilled, sandra noticed something alarming.

Panic ensued; Sandra said she rushed to get her two grandchildren inside, but the explosion came before they could fully escape.

In the chaos, Sandra, her husband, their two daughters and grand kids were injured. 

Despite the loss, Sandra remains grateful no lives were lost, she praised the  swift response from EMTs.

The family is now appealing for help to rebuild what’s been lost.
