NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Jarred Williams-Evans, just 21 years old, was gunned down shortly after midnight on June 9th, 2025.
He was one of two men shot while at a business establishment on Cordeaux Avenue, just blocks away from his mother’s home on Market Street.
His mother, Shenell Rolle, says the moment she got the news is one she’ll never forget.
Shenell Rolle – Mother of Victim:
“I was at home. I get the bombing on my house around 12 o’clock. I was like, who is this? I looked out the front window. I said, what is this? He replied, ‘Just David. Come, come, come.’ I said, what happened? He said, ‘Jarred get shoot.'”
Jarred’s family remembers him as kind, full of life, and loved by everyone who knew him.
Just hours before he was killed, Jarred had spent the entire day with his fiancée, Ciara McKenzie. The young couple had just celebrated their birthdays, which were days apart, surrounded by friends and family.
Ciara McKenzie – Victim’s Fiancée:
“He called his family to let them know we’re doing the ATVs. We wanted to ride out to make it fun for our birthday. After that, we wasn’t ready to go home. We still wanted to have more fun. So we went on the tracks. He got us little photos that he wanted. He wanted everybody to see him popping, so he got everything that he wanted.”
It was a day filled with laughter and memories, one his sister, Denisha Russell, says she’ll carry with her forever.
Denisha Russell – Sister of Victim:
“He called and he said he wanted me to go riding with him and I told him I didn’t wanna go. I said, what if I had work? You call me last minute. He said, ‘Well, you better sell them as a family emergency ’cause we beating the town. You only live once.'”
Now, the family is left shattered, trying to make sense of another tragic loss, just months after losing another child to health complications.
Through her heartbreak, Shenell Rolle made a public plea for justice and support.
Shenell Rolle – Mother of Victim:
“I’m really disappointed, and I want to say this to the community and to the public: if you all see something, if you know something, come forward, please. My child was a nice, loving son. He meant nobody no harm. He had no bad records. Please, come forward.”
As police continue their investigation, the family of Jarred Williams-Evans hopes for answers, and justice, while mourning a life taken far too soon.
