NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Between 2010 and 2022 legal marriages saw a decrease of 2.5percent, that’s according to a report published by the Bahamas National Statistical Institute in October 2024.

However, there were two categories that saw marked increases.

Divorce rates rose by 16.3 percent.

Never married increased by 18.2 percent and legally separated saw a staggering 75.6 percent.

To this end, I put the tough questions to marriage and family life therapist, Apostle Dr. C. Clifford Smith specifically, why do we, as a society, seem to struggle with marriage?

And without those principles, he says it becomes easy for both genders to fall prey to a range of facades such as lust and finance, all of which can become detrimental over time.

Smith reiterating his belief that love and romance are the foundations of a successful marriage, giving you the key to unlocking an everlasting love.
