Filmmaker Sets Sights on Grand Bahama
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A young Bahamian filmmaker is bringing a movie set to the city of Freeport, with a venture set for April.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A young Bahamian filmmaker is bringing a movie set to the city of Freeport, with a venture set for April.
Meet Reginald Gibson, a local upcoming writer and filmmaker who is a master’s graduate from Full Sail University.
Gibson is bringing his talents home to the island of Grand Bahama.
He’s worked and interned on several documentaries and films that have been featured on networks like Netflix.
The 23-year-old executive producer is currently involved in Optional Practical Training at Holmes Rock Studio, based in Florida.
It was here where the idea originated to bring a film shoot to the island of Grand Bahama.
Details of the film are private, but the project is estimated to cost between $2-3 million, and will provide temporary jobs to 60-80 locals for set designs.
Gibson encourages aspiring filmmakers to believe in themselves and to pursue their dreams.
