NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Free National Movement held their final Rally in The Alley ahead of Monday’s by-election Friday night, featuring the party’s leader, deputy leader, chairman, executive members, candidates, and former Prime Minister Hubert Alexander Ingraham, who “cleared the air.”

“I hear daddy has been here, but papa reached.”

Cheers captured the energy at Dignity Gardens Park as scores of party supporters and Golden Isles residents gathered to hear Friday night’s guest speakers.

Each one highlighting Brian Brown’s work as constituency chairman over the past decade, as well his run as a candidate for the last eight years.

Brown shared his first order of business for residents in the area.

“First, we must deal with the number one concern I hear: every door safety. I, Brian Berkley Brown, will work hard hand in hand with the police, with our churches, and with our residents to strengthen neighborhood security, expand community patrol, and bring back order to our communities.”

Then, party leader Michael Pintard took to the podium, dropping a bombshell accusation.

Michael Pintard – Leader, Free National Movement

“We told you when we spoke with you several times, before that they borrowed $20 million illegally, the minister did not have the authority to borrow $20 million, only the minister of finance can commit us to that debt.”

“They were suppose to build $20 million worth of homes in this same area, and we told you we couldn’t find $20 million worth of homes, we couldn’t find $15 million, we couldn’t find $10 million…”

“Here’s the announcement tonight: we can tell you that they have deposited an additional $10.2 million in the same account.

He says the information can be found in the ministry of finance’s report.

This latest allegation comes days after Pintard claims persons were fired following an investigation at Bahamasair involving unaccompanied passports on a flight to Haiti.

The Office of the Prime Minister released a statement refuting the accusation, stating, “he has provided zero evidence to support that claim, and the Royal Bahamas Police Force, the Passport Office, and a Bahamasair executive have all confirmed they had no record or report related to Mr. Pintard’s claim.”

However, on Friday night, Pintard doubled down on his comments.

“Last week I shared with you information brought to me and many of you by persons who we trusted, who we know to be credible when they talk about how institutions of the government are used on occasions to transport monies and documents – in this case passports. These jokers called me everything but a child of God.”

When the initial allegation was made by Pintard, a press release from the Progressive Liberal Party was published calling for him to produce evidence.

After the rally, we asked Pintard about the request.

“We have dealt with that matter, I spoke to it tonight, and I believe people are talking to the public themselves, so again, it continues to unfold to prove they have been dishonest about what I said initially, so we’ll see, let’s watch. Monday is coming, it should be an interesting day on Monday.”
