NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A former policeman has been sentenced to four years in prison and two years probation for abusing his badge to solicit sex from a woman while on duty.

Twenty-nine-year-old Shaquille Williamson will be sent back to prison for one year if he’s convicted of another offense while on probation.

Williamson, who was fired from the police force after his conviction on June 4, 2025, showed no reaction as Justice Renae McKay delivered her sentencing decision.

Williamson was convicted of attempted procuration in relation to the events of July 5, 2023.
At around 2am on the day in question, Williamson was on patrol alone when he met a woman and man having sex on the hood of a car on Yamacraw Beach.

After ordering the couple to get dressed, Williamson ran name checks on both of them, which came back clear.

However, Williamson lied and told the woman that she had an outstanding warrant. That’s when he allegedly told the woman she could avoid arrest if she had sex with him. The woman made a frantic call to the police control room, while Williamson was talking to her boyfriend. Police units rushed to the scene and Williamson was disarmed and arrested.
