Director of Communications at The Grand Bahama Power Company, Cleopatra Russell, says following Hurricane Matthew, the company sought to create more stability for customers through their hedging program.

According to Russell, for the month of November, customers can expect a nominal increase from 10 cents per kilowatt hour to 11 and a half cents per kilowatt hour.

She adds that several programs are currently in place to educate customers on managing their energy usage.

And the power company isn’t only telling, they’re showing how it can be done.

Located in the Regent Center, is a smart home that customers can visit.

Russell also encourages residents that may be experiencing challenges, to reach out.
