UNITED STATES – General Motors is recalling nearly 600,000 SUVs and pickups from 2021 to 2024 due to possible engine defects that could lead to crashes.

The recall affects Cadillac Escalades, Chevy Silverados, Tahoes, and GMC Yukons.

Officials say a faulty engine part could cause loud knocking, warning lights and even sudden loss of power while driving.

GM says only about 3% of vehicles are likely affected, but dealers will inspect and fix any problems for free.

Owners will be notified by mail starting June 9th.
