Guyanese Call For Minister To Be Charged

GUYANA – The Guyana police force says it has completed its investigations into rape allegations levelled against Minister of Local Government and Regional Authority Nigel Dharamlall.

In a statement police said the file is now with the director of public prosecutions.

Protesters have called for the minister to resign after a 16 year-old girl accused the minister of grooming sexual assault at his home in Georgetown sometime in 2022.

The allegations were detailed in a letter to President Mohamed Irfaan Ali and several government ministers.
