HAITI – A new government has been formed in Haiti to restore order amid ongoing violence.

The new cabinet, announced two weeks after Garry Conille was appointed interim Prime Minister, replaces all ministers from former Prime Minister Ariel henry’s government, who was ousted by gangs.

Conille will also serve as Interior minister.

Key appointments include Carlos Hercules as Justice minister and Dominique Dupuy as Foreign Affairs Minister.

Despite these changes, gangs still control much of Port-au-Prince, and a promised UN-backed security force led by Kenya has yet to deploy.

Haiti remains in turmoil since president Jovenel Moïse’s assassination in 2021.
