NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Privy Council has ended a convicted killer’s decades long battle to overturn his murder conviction.

The Privy Council has refused Mark Anthony Capron permission to appeal against his second conviction for the 2001 murder of Anthawn Simms.

Capton was first convicted of the murder the following year, but the Privy Council quashed the conviction in 2006 because of errors by the trial judge.

In 2010, following a retrial Capron was convicted of the murder.

The appellate court affirmed Capron’s conviction in 2013 and rejected his bid to reopen his appeal in 2023.
