SOUTHERN BAHAMAS – It’s always been the Royal Bahamas Defence Force’s mission to defend and protect our borders. But as a result of the violence in Haiti, their jobs are more important than ever.

This course of action can take ships anywhere, as far as Turks and Caicos, to waters off of Cuba, and when called upon even to areas close to Haiti.

With this comes the need for someone who is knowledgable in navigation. This is where Lieutenant John Delancey, an experienced officer and former diplomat comes in.

Alexis Brown, an experienced officer who has sailed for over 20 years is the man in charge of the HMBS Bahamas.

This course of action can take ships anywhere, as far as Turks and Caicos, to waters off of Cuba, and when called upon even to areas close to Haiti.

While these gentlemen are busy ensuring the ship goes where it needs to, Lieutenant Farquharson takes on the burden of daily administration and operations.
