Rumors of a possible divide within the Progressive Liberal Party surfaced after a full-page ad was posted in a local newspaper.

The ad featured energy and transport minister Jobeth Coleby-Davis  and Deputy Prime Minister Chester Cooper, who is also the PLP Deputy Leader.

On Monday, Cooper told reporters he’s focused on doing the work of The Bahamian people.

Outside the House of Assembly today, the energy minister telling our news exclusively the ad was a political mischief that tried to sow discord.

Jobeth Colbey-Davis, “ I support the leadership of the PLP, and I have no dealings with that ad, and I did not consent for that to be printed. And so unfortunately it didn’t do what they were expecting because we’re one team, we’re working together. To better the lives of the humans. “
