NASSAU, BAHAMAS – 50 years ago, at the very first independence celebrations, thousands of Bahamians witnessed a cultural show, the likes of which audiences had never experienced before.

Some of the countries greatest cultural icons of the time put together a dramatic and musical review telling the story of The Bahamas and Bahamians over the centuries.

Since then, each year a cultural show segways us into our national celebrations.

Renowned Artistic Director Philip Burrows is this year’s director and co-writer.

Unfortunately, after five decades many of the same issues still exist for artists and creatives like Burrows.
