NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Clifford Park came alive last night with the 49th celebration of Bahamian Independence. The Ecumenical Service and Cultural Experience took place to the enjoyment of countless Bahamians. A display of Bahamian pride at its best.

Bahamians flocking to historic Clifford Park on the eve of 49th anniversary of Independence. Many of the spectators describing it as a breath of fresh air.

Another step on the road to normalcy after two years of COVID-19 restrictions. Festivities started with the traditional Ecumenical Service. Worshippers experienced the best in Bahamian gospel, while participating clergy offered prayers for the nation.

In his sermon, Christian Council President Bishop Delton Fernander reflected on the journey to nationhood and our future.

Among the line-up of well-loved Bahamian artists on stage were the likes of Sweet Emily, and Colyn McDonald.

Crowds were also treated to the traditional inspection of the guard, and flag raising.
