NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Coroners Court has ruled another police-involved shooting as homicide by manslaughter and Police Commissioner Clayton Fernander is weighing in.

This would be the second ruling in just a matter of weeks.

Speaking to reporters Tuesday Fernander said it’s just a preliminary inquiry.

On Friday, a coroners court jury ruled the 2019 killing of 21-year-old Shanton Forbes was a homicide by manslaughter.

It follows the police-involved killing of Azario Major which was also ruled as a homicide by manslaughter.

Despite the recent rulings, Fernander is confident the public won’t lose faith in force.
