UNITED STATES- Bahamians continue to populate all levels of professional baseball, from the Minor Leagues to the Majors.

Here is a recap of how they did on Saturday night:

Jazz Passes Milestone

New York Yankees second baseman Jazz Chisholm joined elite company in last night’s 5-3 extra innings win over the Chicago White Sox last night when he swiped his 25th base of the year.

He also came up clutch in the 11th inning, driving in a double and scoring the final run to help the Yanks get the much-needed win.

Jazz is one of six players in the team’s 122-year history to hit at least 25 home runs and steal 25 bases in a single season, and the first Yankees player to accomplish the feat since Curtis Granderson did so in 2011.

The only other Yankees players who went for 25 and 25 were Alex Rodriguez (2004), Alfonso Soriano (2002, 2003), Rickey Henderson (1986), and Bobby Bonds (1975).

Jazz reached the mark while missing 28 games and not stealing a base in 39 games. If he can hit the 30-30 mark, he would be only the third Yankee to do so and the first since Soriano in 02.

Richardson and the Mets Fall to A Divisional Rival

New York Mets First Base Coach Antoan Richardson and his squad fell to the Miami Marlins 11-8 in an NL East matchup.

The Mets’ big bats rang out., Francisco Lindor and Mark Vientos hit home runs, and Juan Soto launched two. The Mets ran wild on the basepaths as they’ve done all year, thanks to Richardson’s guidance, stealing four bases.

However, their explosive offensive output couldn’t overcome the disastrous night by starting pitcher David Peterson, who gave up eight earned runs in the first two innings before getting the hook.

They did manage to tie the game in the 6th on a Soto home run before the Marlins wrestled it back to get the win.

Down In The Minors

Miami Marlins prospect Ian Lewis had himself a night. The Shortstop went 2-5 with two doubles and two stolen bases to help his Beloit Sky Carp get a 6–0 win over the Cedar Rapids Kernels.

With his pilfering, the Sky Carp became the first team in professional baseball to steal 300 bases this season. Lewis contributed to the cause, stealing 14 bases in only 21 games.

Sebastian Walcott, the top prospect in the Texas Rangers organization, went 0-1 with a career-high 4 walks. He also stole his 29th base of the year. His Double-A Frisco Roughriders beat the San Antonio Missions 8-4.

Kristian Robinson went 1-3 with a double and he scored a run to help his Triple-A Reno Aces beat the Sacramento River Cats 5-0.
