Judge Blocks Trump Immigration Policy Allowing Arrests In Churches

UNITED STATES – A federal judge blocked immigration enforcement at certain houses of worship Monday, ruling that the Trump Administration’s policy could violate religious freedom.

The injunction applies to Quakers, a Georgia-based baptist network, and a Sikh Temple in California.

The lawsuit challenges a policy allowing agents to conduct operations in places of worship without supervisor approval, reversing long-standing protections.

Plaintiffs argue the policy has scared immigrants away from services.
