DALLAS, U.S.A. – With a new team, barely any time to get acclimated to his new teammates or new city, Kai Jones went out and had the best game of his NBA career.
Jones finished with a career high 21 points on 9-10 shooting from the field and grabbed eight rebounds in his Dallas mavericks 122-98 loss to the Sacramento Kings Monday night at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.
The Mavericks signed jones to a two-way contract Monday as they continue to deal with injuries to multiple big men.
Originally drafted by the New York Knicks in 2021, Jones appeared in 28 games with the Los Angeles Clippers and their G-league affiliate in San Diego.
With the Clippers, he averaged 2.2 points and 1.6 rebounds per game.

Monday night we took a look at some outstanding performances from the NCAA-I Indoor Championships, but today we recap some standout performances from D-II.
Collinique Farrington led the Bahamian contingent for the Southwest Baptist Bearcats and delivered a dominant performance at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships.
The junior sprinter earned her second straight indoor track athlete of the year award after winning both the 200m and 400m.
She won the 400m in 54.18 secs and the 200m in 24.10 secs.
Stephanique Dean was second in the 200m in 24.32 secs and was third in the 60m.
Jaynae Pinder finished third in the 60-meter in 9.01 secs.
At the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Championships, Laila Cleare of St. Mary’s won the 60m in a time 7.41 seconds.
Jazmin Barry of Minnesota State Moorehead was third overall in the long jump at 5.85m, while teammate Shavantae Roberts finished second in the 60m in 7.42 secs and fifth in the 200m in 24.68 secs.
Baseball
Kristian Robinson’s first hit of spring training was a towering home-run in a win for the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Robinson blasted a two run shot in the Diamondbacks’ 10-2 win over the Chicago Cubs Monday in Cactus League Play in Surprise, Arizona.
His two RBI in the bottom of the eighth inning were the final two runs of the game and traveled 411 feet with an exit velocity of 105 mph.
Beach Soccer
In just about a week the Junkanoo Beach Boyz will hit the sand to represent The Bahamas at the CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championships.
Let’s take a look at who made the cut for the final roster:
The goalkeepers are Michael Butler and Julio Jameson;
Defenders include Lesly st. Fleur, Kyle Williams, Jean Francois, Dwayne Forbes, and Renardo McCullam;
The forwards are Brandon Adderley, Peter Julmis, Timothy Munnings, Creven Ferguson and Lekenson Chery.
The championship will take place from March 11-16 at the Malcolm Park Beach Soccer facility.
The winning team will be crowned beach soccer champion of the region and along with the finalists, will earn spots in the 2025 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Seychelles.
