NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The BPL CEO also said plans for a liquified natural gas plant are still on the table.

A memorandum of understanding between Shell and BPL was signed for the project back in 2018.

In October 2021, Works and Utilities Minister Alfred Sears said no decision has been made on whether Shell North America’s long plant will proceed.

At the time he said the former government was presented with a proposal on the matter but didn’t grant approval.

Two months ago, Shell said it remains committed to building the gas-to-power facility in New Providence despite the Davis administration remaining mum on the matter.
