NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man accused of bludgeoning his cellmate to death has asked for a new lawyer.

Diallo Williamson told Justice Jeanine Weech-Gomez that he didn’t feel his current lawyer was looking out for his interests.

The judge granted the request and adjourned the matter to July 18 for fixture.

Williams is charged with the murder of Mikhail Miller, a 29-year-old psychiatric patient.

He was found dead in cell F2 in the Maximum Security section at the Bahamas Department of Corrections on November 1, 2021.

Miller was found dead weeks after he was jailed for three months for stealing a tablet and cellphone from his mother.
