NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man is behind bars after being accused of a shooting that left one man dead and another in hospital.

Prosecutors say Davano Miller fatally shot Frantwion Newton and attempted to murder Romeo Cooper on July 20.

The victims were talking to each other at Dean’s Alley, off Market Street when a lone gunman exited a white car and shot them both.

Miller was not required to enter pleas to charges of murder and attempted murder when he stood before Acting Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley.

Bail was denied and he returns to court on October 31 to receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.
