Man Charged With Carjackings and Weapon Possession

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 25-year-old man is in custody accused of carjackings and weapons charges.

Prosecutors allege that Shawnrick Forbes took two Honda Civics at gunpoint on November 6 and 7.

When police caught up with Forbes on November 9, they allegedly found him with a Glock 17 pistol and a .380 pistol.

Forbes faced charges of armed robbery and possession of an unlicensed firearm when he appeared before Senior Magistrate Kendra Kelly.

He was not required to enter pleas to the charges as he will stand trial in the Supreme Court.

He was denied bail and he returns to court on February 24 to receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.
