NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man who escaped from the lockup at the Magistrates’ Court Complex last September was sentenced on Friday to 14 months in prison.

Since London Rahming has already spent six months in custody, he has eight months remaining on his sentence.

Twenty-five-year-old Rahming sparked an island wide manhunt on September 23, 2022, after he walked out of the cells at the court complex.

Earlier that day, Rahming had been sentenced to 15 months in prison for violating the condition of his attempted murder bail by cutting off his ankle monitor.

Officers at the cell block did not realize that Rahming was missing until they were loading detainees onto the bus to take them to the prison.

Following a manhunt, police arrested Rahming at Hampton Street on September 25.

Rahming changed his plea to guilty in relation to the escape on February 8.

Rahming later had his conviction and 15-month sentence for the bail breach quashed on appeal.
