UNITED STATES – The Miami Marlins started spring training without their star centerfielder, beating the St. Louis Cardinals 9-8.

Jazz had surgery in October to remedy a turf toe injury he sustained in May of last year, going all-out to make a catch on the warning track.

He’s been with the team at their spring training facility in Jupiter, Florida, participating in batting practice and drills with the team while recovering from the injury.

The team says the speedy outfielder’s rehab is going according to plan and he’s expected to be in the lineup on March 28th when the Marlins open up their season up against the Pittsburgh Pirates
