NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Minister of Education, this week, mincing no words and refuting claims of a student punching a school principal. She also spoke to challenges being experienced by our students as a result of the pandemic.

Minister of Education Glenys Hanna-Martin refuting claims a student punched a school administrator sometime last week. She says the ministry is conducting an investigation surrounding the matter but notes President of the Bahamas Educational Managers Union also said, “No one was punched”.

Hanna Martin shared these sentiments about spreading false information about incidents in our schools.

Meanwhile, the education minister says she’s more concerned about addressing learning loss experienced by students as a result of the pandemic, and a request for a proposal to address the same has been published on the ministry’s website.
