UNITED STATES – Both Brent Moss and Donnie Freeman have found new homes through the transfer portal, adding experience and production to two programs looking to reload.

Moss is headed to the Tulsa Golden Hurricane after a breakout first season at the Division I level with the UTSA Roadrunners.

He averaged 9.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game, and earned a starting spot for the final 11 games of the season.

Now he looks to take the next step, bringing two-way wing depth to a Tulsa team that reached the NIT final.

Before arriving at UTSA, Moss built his reputation at Barton Community College, where he emerged as one of the top junior college prospects in the country and helped lead the team to a national title.

Meanwhile, Freeman is making a high-profile move within New York State, transferring from the Syracuse Orange in the ACC to the St. John’s Red Storm in the Big East.

Freeman led Syracuse in scoring as a sophomore with 16.5 points and 7.2 rebounds per game, earning All-ACC honorable mention honors. As a freshman, he averaged 13.4 points and 7.9 rebounds per game before injury cut his season short.

Freeman is now headed to a St. John’s program that reached the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament.

Mingoes Soccer

The final regular season game was a mere formality, but the University of the Bahamas Mingoes still dominated.

They closed out their Bahamas Men’s Soccer League season on a high note with a 3–1 win over defending champions Western Warriors.

UB trailed 1–0 at halftime before captain Ronaldo Green sparked the comeback, scoring in the 73rd minute and adding a breakaway goal three minutes later to put the Mingoes ahead 2–1.

UB now turns its attention to the BMSL Cup, where they face Renegades FC in the quarterfinals Sunday at 6:45 p.m. at the Roscoe A.L. Davies Soccer Fields.

NCAA Track and Field

Stephanique Dean is the next in line of Bahamians to rewrite the Southwest Baptist University Bearcats record books.

At the Missouri State Invitational, she stopped the clock at 11.30 seconds in the 100 meters.

It stands as the fourth fastest time in NCAA Division II this season and a new school record for Southwest Baptist.

She was also a member of the 4×100 meter team that finished in 45.54 seconds, a national qualifying mark and the 11th fastest time in NCAA Division II.

Dean comes off an indoor season where she was a Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship silver medalist in the 200 meters and bronze medalist in the 400 meters.
