NASSAU, BAHAMAS – This week, quite a few Downtown buildings were targeted for demolition. While these eyesores were coming down, Ministry of Works officials were
also discussing how to address the ongoing flooding in the area.

It’s by far the most famous street in the country given its history.

Bay street is also where the majority of our tourist traffic passes through.

It’s a busy commercial hub and accommodates traffic around our financial centers as well. Yet it’s also known for flooding issues.

Senior Civil Engineer in the Ministry of Works Francis Clarke confirming work may soon begin to fix those long-standing flooding problems.

There are also plans to meet with the utility companies to address similar issues on nearby Dowdeswell Street.
