COLOMBIA – The Colombian navy has intercepted a 15-meter-long “Narco-sub” traveling through the Pacific Ocean on Sunday, carrying nearly 800kg of cocaine, marked with scorpion symbols.

Three individuals have been arrested.

Valued at $27 million, the military says the sub was en route to the U.S. or Europe.

The interception prevents the entry of funds into drug trafficking organizations, averting the distribution of around two million doses.

Colombia, the world’s leading cocaine producer, faces persistent challenges combating drug trafficking.

Authorities say narco-subs, often homemade, are a covert means of drug transport.
