NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Saturday was the final day of group play in the National Baseball Tournament.

The St. Augustine’s Big Red Machine started off the day with a 14-8 run over the C.W. Saunders cougars.

And then the St. Andrew’s Hurricanes followed that up with an 8-4 win over the C.V. Bethel Stingrays.

Sac then came back to down the C.I. Gibson Rattlers 13-1.

They would come out of pool play with a 1 seed going undefeated with a 4-0 record, while the Queen’s College comets lead pool A.

They also have a 4-1 record.

Basketball

VJ Edgecombe, the combo guard from Bimini, helped the Philadelphia 76ers pick up a big division win, downing the New York Knicks in Madison Square Garden 130-119.

He dropped 26 points on 10-16 shooting, and he was bombs away from three, making 4-9 from the arc. He also had 4 assists and he clamped up with 2 steals and two blocks on the defensive end.

Tyrese Maxey led the Sixers with 36 points and Joel Embiid had 26 points and 10 rebounds.

Jalen Brunson led the Knicks with 31 points.

In college, Assistant Coach Mikhail Mclean and the University of Kentucky Wildcats fell to Alabama Crimson Tide 89-74.

And Antonecia Moultrie dropped 12 points in 18 minutes off the bench in Ohio University’s 73-51 conference win over Akron.
