NASSAU, BAHAMAS – PLP Chairman Fred Mitchell says the immigration minister and others need to remain silent on this issue.

His reasoning? He says the country is split on issues of immigration and believes no minister can have a logical argument in this matter.

His comments come as both the Free National Movement and the Coalition of Independents have released startling documents about how more than 60 foreign nationals were released at the British Colonial Hotel.

It’s been revealed that Bell superseded senior immigration officials and released the foreigners without the proper documentation.

Mitchell says what happened isn’t out of the ordinary.
