Police Officer Gives Back

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Police officers are often recognized for making arrests and protecting and serving but one member of the Royal Bahamas Police force has gained social media fame for his recent act of kindness.

Sergeant 2838 Kevin Ellis who took it upon himself to assist the Thompson family in preparation for back to school.

Pictures showing Sgt Ellis donating the items to Mr. Thompson’s son and shared on the police force’s facebook page went viral.

Sgt Ellis says he felt compelled to assist the family after first meeting them during the pandemic.

He says he continues to make regular checks on the family and will continue to assist them out of pocket for as long as he can.

Police Press Liaison Officer Chief Superintendent Chrislyn Skippings says what Sgt Ellis did will be far reaching.
