NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Some 49 ‘Generation-X’ers and 49 millenials were honored last night for their contribution to nation building. A cross section of industry leaders, as well as those breaking barriers in uncharted waters, were officially recognized and pinned.

What began as a small initiative, expanded into a project honoring more influential people in the community.

That’s according to founder of Project Bahamas, Stephen Sands, who says the project is five years in the making.

He says millennials were first nominated by their peers and family members.

Founder of 242 Jobs, Aeropost and WYSS, Donavon Powell, was selected as a millenial honoree. He says he is grateful for the recognition.

Bahamian artist, Lavardo Sands, also known as Shyne242, also expressing his gratitude for the recognition.

There will also be a medal recognition ceremony to be held in August.
