NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Sexual Offenses Amendment Bill 2023, is “not a campaign against husbands” or an “attack on the institution of marriage” according to Law Reform Commissioner Dame Anita Allen.

She says this at a forum of civil servants held to discuss the proposed bill Wednesday afternoon, explaining that to call it the “Marital Rape Bill” would be inaccurate.

Minister of Social Services Obie Ferguson also weighed in after the forum, telling Our News he feels they’ve made progress.
