ANTIGUA & BARBUDA – Students in Antigua and Barbuda returned to their classrooms Thursday after the Antigua and Barbuda Union of Teachers called off strike action.

Union members protesting inadequate facilities, lack of school security and remuneration packages.

Government was forced to extend the Easter vacations as a result of teachers refusing to return on Monday.

At Thursday’s post-cabinet media briefing, Chief of Staff in the Prime Minister’s Office Lionel Hurst applauded the union for being reasonable in their deliberations with government.
