NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Health and Wellness Minister, Dr. Michael Darville, proudly announces the Public Hospitals Authority and Bahamas Doctors Union have formalized their Industrial Agreement.

This is a move the PHA says recognizes the changing needs of medical professionals in today’s healthcare system.

He says the deal guarantees fair and competitive working conditions for doctors across the board.

President of the Doctor’s Union, Dr. Camille Glinton says though it was a lengthy process, they stayed the course, fighting for the needs of junior doctors.

Noting that the last Agreement was signed nearly 10 years ago.

She calls today’s agreement, a milestone for the new executive team.

But the Health Minister admits money is always a challenge, which is why, he says, the Ministry of Finance was brought to the table, to make sure every commitment can be honoured.

Dr. Glinton says the Union remains committed to working with the PHA to address all needs going forward.
